Roll A Dice Exercise


Roll a Dice Exercise is a interactive form of exercise that can be used to motivate participates to engage in simple stretching and exercise activity. Roll a Dice is great for physical fitness, gross motor skills, and socialization.



Size of Group

  • Unlimited


Equipment

  • Dice (Jumbo Dice works best!)

  • Roll a Dice Handout (See below for sample)


Objective

  • Physical Fitness

  • Socialization

  • Gross Motor Skills


Directions

  1. Pass the Roll a Dice Handout to each participant

  2. Instruct each participant to take turn rolling the dice

  3. The participant who has the dice gets to pick which exercise the groups will be doing and how many

  4. Repeat step 3 until the at least all participants gone once

  5. Repeat step 3 if you want the duration of groups to increase to a certain increment (example: 30 minutes)



Adaptations:

  • Limited physical ability

    • Provide chair as needed for participants with limited physical ability, so the participants can engage in seated exercise


  • Lack of participation or engagement

    • Consistent with praise and encourage if needed

    • Implement music to increase participants motivation
